As a top garden and landscape designer, I combine a practical approach with creative flair producing gardens that surprise and delight.
My design philosophy is to work closely with clients to create personal gardens, which reflect their needs and style and are in harmony with the location.
With an attention to detail and a talent for planting design, I have built a successful practice, ranging from large country properties to small urban spaces and from traditional to modern in style. I also have extensive knowledge of the very different climate and soil conditions and plant palettes from my work on gardens from the Mediterranean to Moscow.
I established my practice in 1973, with a wealth of expert knowledge and experience in design, landscape construction and horticulture.
I believe in creating landscapes which are sustainable within the context of materials, maintenance and the local ecology, to minimize environmental impact.

The practice is based in London and Surrey, and offers a full service, including consultations, site evaluation, design and planting schemes, landscaping specifications and monitoring all construction, planting and maintenance contracts.
I have exhibited at RHS Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows, and been Consultant plants person on various show gardens, including the ‘Enchanted Garden’ at Hampton Court 2000.
I am both a Registered Member and Fellow of the Society of Garden Designers and registered designer of BALI. Commissions are welcome from throughout the UK and abroad.
Helen has now combined her design talents with Sally Court and together they are co Directors of cgd landscape design, a more commercial company specialising in larger private estates and commercial development projects not only in the UK but also across International markets.
