As part of a larger garden, this sunken garden offers a large shady arbour for entertaining and dining.  Viewed from the new kitchen extension, the specially designed water feature also adds the soothing sound of trickling water to the garden.  Herbs and small gravel loving plants break up the large paved area.  Views from the arbour include the armillary sphere and the mixed borders beyond.
